Andrew Helps Runner Recover

Testimonial for Ken

I have been going to Hands On in Brick for a while and have been very happy with the services provided. Karen has been excellent in how to deal with my PT issues and is great to work with, is knowledgeable and hard working. Lisa, the practice manager has been wonderful in working with all she has to deal with on the administrative side. She especially has been doing a great job working with me on a Horizon billing issue, taking control of the situation and working diligently to resolve the issue. She is always very professional, knowledgeable, caring and personable in dealing with every situation, including this one. Thank you very much for all you do. -Jack Zaccone

Excellent PT care. Very knowledgeable and Karen went above and beyond in helping me recover post cervical surgery. Lisa is the absolutely the best office manager there is. Would highly recommend the brick center to anyone needing PT. -Agnes Huber

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Being on a mission to get back to my old physical abilities, I am thankful for the referral here! They are truly the professional help I needed! And now with their help and guidance I am hopeful to be even better than before! Furthermore, Ken, Andrew and crew are true professionals with heartfelt “hands on” help! At the same time, it’s great to see the other patients making progress on their physical goals! Thank you everyone at HANDS ON PHYSICAL THERAPY!!! – William Wuesthoff

They are the absolute best. I had a full knee, and was scared to death. Andrew made me very comfortable. I actually looked forward to going 3 times a week. The entire staff are all Very knowledgeable and treat you like family. When I was discharged, it was bitter sweet. I miss going so much. Thank you all… -Bonnie Gobar

Hands on therapy is the only place to go for your physical therapy needs. Ken, the owner, was amazing With my wrist injury recovery. He was caring, understanding, and dedicated to helping me become pain free. My experience was so incredible, I am now bringing my two daughters there for Dance Acro injuries. Hands on Therapy is the only choice for my family. -Andrew Guadagno

Seeing as I appreciate reading reviews being fairly new to the area only right that I add based on my excellent PT experience with these fine folks! I worked with Greg O’Connor at the Toms River location for a back issue and he was outstanding. He took a lot of time to understand my concerns and issues and then developed an excellent course of home and in house PT regiment. I left there feeling a world better with a plan on how to help keep it that way. Recommended to my physician at HSS (even though they are the only recognized affiliate in Ocean County) as he was so impressed with my improvement. Kudos to Greg and I could not recommend with more confidence as I also saw how great he was working with others beyond myself. -Eric Jaklitsch

After giving much thought on the best way to thank Karen Schechter for all she has done for me, I decided that the best way to say thank you would be to let her employer know how awesome a therapist/person she is.

February 2014 I was diagnosed with TMJ, my dentist had a bite guard made for me and I was taking pain medication and using hot and cold packs every day. I was experiencing so much discomfort that it was affecting my quality of life. The end of June my husband decided to go to the internet and try to find help for me and that’s how we found Karen. I called my dentist and asked for a script for therapy, he was a little hesitant but gave the script to me. The beginning of July I had an appointment with Karen and my journey began. From our first meeting there was a connect, she was caring, thorough, knowledgeable and most of all she listened to what I was saying. We started a program that day and I was on the road to recovery. After about three weeks I no longer was taking pain medication, no longer needed ice/hot packs and was starting to feel better than I had for several months.

Being in therapy from July to present has given me the opportunity to observe how Karen interacts with her other clients. She not only closely monitors them, she also takes an interest in them as a person. Her genuine caring is very obvious.

November 25, 2014 I had a 6 month check up with my dentist. He was amazed at how much I had improved. He asked me about the therapy I was receiving. He was so impressed with Karen’s reports to him, he said they were descriptive, showed a wealth of knowledge relative to the problem and well written. He told me he wished he could meet her but unfortunately he is over an hour away. He asked me to thank her for him for what she has done for me.

I was very fortunate to have the privilege of meeting and working with Karen, She is truly an asset to Hands On.
Very truly yours,
Joanne A.

Hello Ken:

I am so glad Dr. Micah May referred me to you for my physical therapy sessions. I have told my orthopedist, Dr. Reich, that I am very happy with my progress at HandsOn and he is happy with my progress as well. This should be my last week at HandsOn; I see Dr. Reich Thursday and I will find out. BUT I have to tell you that Karen has been the best physical therapist I have ever had. I have gone to many others over the years and I really and truly will always go back to her for my therapies. I have recommended her to others as well. Your whole staff is wonderful… I can’t say enough about them all. Happy New Year

Carol Heckelmann

I wanted to take a minute and thank you again. As I was working out yesterday morning doing my core class, I remembered everything you told me, what I can do and what I cannot do. I remembered the pain I was in and how you got me back on track, feeling better and basically gave me back a piece of my life that I lost. I am truly grateful to you Ken. I am working out regularly again and may be jogging in my first 5K in 3 years. I feel great again!! Thank you for all you do, God gave you your calling and you definitely excel in it my friend!

In an era when many practitioners are herding in their patients into waiting rooms like cattle and rationing the time they spend with those patients, Ken Pavlinec has successfully maintained a practice where his patients experience a thorough comprehensive plan of therapy and care personally designed for each of their own special needs. Thanks to working with Ken prior to my own surgery, I was aware and prepared of what to expect before and after the surgery and my rehab and follow-ups progressed exactly as Ken said they would. I would highly recommend that anyone in need of Physical Therapy visit with Ken Pavlinec. Choosing the right Physical Therapist is as important as picking the right surgeon. Make the right choice!

In 2007, using execise DVDs, I began learning resistance training to control my Type-2 diabetes. In February 2011, I began training with Chad. He keeps my routine new and interesting and guides me to avoid injury. Best of all, he encouraged me to stop smoking. In April, with Chad’s help, after smoking cigarettes for 47 years, I quit without gaining any weight! Thank you Chad!

Barbara Powell

There are so many things to say about Chad that it is hard to write them down. I have never met anyone as caring and compassionate about people as Chad is. He saved my life in so many ways. You know that he loves what he is doing just by talking to him. He always has some comforting and motivating words to say to encourage you to become a better you. I wait anxiously every week to get to “Chad day”. I can not repeat myself enough to say nice things about Chad to anyone who will still listen to me go on about how wonderful he is, but most often people see the results all on their own. Chad is an asset to his profession and to this world.

Dear Hands On,

Recently I had a knee injury so I went to the doctor that had been treating my daughter for her injury. They did some tests and decided that therapy was the course of action. After four weeks of therapy at the doctor’s office my knee wasn’t much better. I questioned whether it mattered where i went to therapy. The doctor advised I could go anywhere. With that in mind i decided to go back to Hands On where I had previously experienced success. During my first visit, Ken questioned why I switched providers. I responded, “even though the other place was closer to home, it was too vanilla.” Ken wanted a further explanation. My answer was,”if I went there for months it would be better simply be healing, not necessarily by the couse of treatment.” When I come to Hands On, not only do they heal my injuries, but its done in a timely fashion and I say that as a compliment to your service and efficiency.

Dear Ken,

When Ken asked me to write a few words about my experiences at Hands On Physical Therapy, I thought to myself, what could be easier. But, when I started to think about it since I started in August 2009, I began to ask, what could be harder since how could he possibly lead me to using this equipment.
I wanted to drive since I suffered a stroke nearly four years ago. At first, I hesitated to receive further treatment since all was, in a word, very mechanical. However, after much urging from my two good friends and a women who was coming to Ken for treatment, I agreed.
Once, I came to Hands On, Ken knew exactly what I needed to drive. He showed me the care, patience, understanding and hard work which he showed to all his patients. These traits and his carefully chosen exercises brought me to success and the ability to drive. His excellent staff of Sean and Joann were always ther to assist me where necessary.
I extend my very best wishes to Ken, his wonderful staff and to those under his care at Hands On Physical Therapy for continued success.

Sincerely,
Micheal Barzin

To: Ken and Staff

I don’t think that we can ever really express how much gratitude is in our hearts. We can say that you have helped us get through the most difficult time in our lives.
We entered your office both physically and mentally broken and we found ourselves at the bottom of the pit. Our world was caving in and in the mist of all the turmoil, a hand came down to help us out and set us on the road or recovery. I thank God that it was you Ken that was at the end of that hand. Thank you for your inspiration, thanks for your motivation and for your words of wisdom. It’s been a long road and we know that there is still more work to be done, but thanks just the same for taking us this far.
It goes without saying, “that behind every great man there is a great team.” Ken you put together a great team to work with you, and we want them to know that they all have a special place in our hearts. Thank you Tracie for all the work you did on our behalf, we will never forget. To the rest of the team, thanks for the laughs and for all the good times. You are a great group of people, stay the course.
Thanks Ken for being so dedicated to your profession. We were very fortunate to be in your care. God Bless you, your family and your practice.

YOUR BEST PATIENTS/ WE WILL NEVER FORGET

Dear Hands-On,

The care I get from the Hands On Staff is more than I ever expected. They not only do “Hands-On” care, they are very knowledgeable about rehabilitation. They gives 100% of themselves all the time. They push me at every session I have with them to reach my goals. I have been to other therapists before and you is by far the best one I have ever been to.

Michael Squicciarini

Dear Ken,

I was reviewing your instructions and noticed you had an e-mail address, so I decided this was a good way to express my gratitude and thanks for all your help in the past 6 weeks.
As we often discussed, caring is such an important element in the health care profession and you are a wonderful example of a professional who understands and really wants to help his clients to obtain a healthier and productive life.
I am deeply grateful to you for your expertise as you helped me reach my goal to live relatively pain free, you made it fun, I looked forward to my sessions, I will miss seeing you and that wonderful smile.

Take care of yourself and god bless,
Charlotte, AKA, Betty

Dear Ken,

I am writing in reference to your physical therapy staff.  I was referred to Hands On by Dr. Joan Choper for back pain and arrived at your facility without an appointment.  Although your therapist was leaving she agreed to see me. Not only did she relieve my pain, she showed true concern and compassion in doing so. Her professionalism and overall sincerity greatly impressed me. She is an asset to your staff and should be commended for her hard work and dedication. I would also like to inform you that I work in a local primary care physician’s office as a referral coordinator and will be sure to refer any patients in need of physical therapy to your site. Once again, I would like to commend Hands On on a job well done. I am completely pain free!

Sincerely,
Stephanie C.

HANDS ON

Can’t remember when I didn’t
go to therapy
Will miss Ken, Tracie, Joann
and Sean
They have been like family
A little pain, lots of gain, exercise, music
and a friendly atmosphere
That is what “Hands On” therapy offers you
throughout the year

Dear Hands On,

I want to sincerely THANK YOU for making my inaugural visit to a Physical Therapist such a wonderful experience. I had been referred by my orthopedic physician for some back and knee problems. I had never been to PT before and while I am an open-minded person by nature I was also somewhat skeptical as to the applicability of PT to my conditions (folks in science/medicine tend to be born skeptics!). That being said, I was extremely impressed with the breadth and thoroughness of the history and physical exam. You were able to very specifically localize and identify discrete problems and I found this simply amazing. I apologize for not wearing PT-appropriate clothing (like I said, as a newbie I thought jeans were OK!) and being somewhat late in filling out paperwork but your office was also very accommodating and for that I am also grateful. My back feels better than it has in months in terms of sheer mobility. My knees I know are a work in progress so I can’t wait for my next visit!
I wish you and the office the very best – collectively you must really help a tremendous number of people.

Sincerely,
Warren Briggs, DVM
